The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) recently joined 70 other organizations in lending its name to correspondence supporting the Trump administration’s goal of future federal infrastructure prioritization investment.

The groups ranging from transportation-construction associations, public officials, highway and roadway user groups, labor groups, and many other stakeholder entities represented thousands of companies and organizations, in addition to millions of citizens.

“Time and again throughout the history of the United States, infrastructure has played an important role in jobs creation, economic growth, safety and security and the quality of life for all people,” Leif Wathne, ACPA executive vice president, said.

ACPA officials said the advocacy effort served an opportunity to maintain strong visibility and continue to inform and persuade elected federal officials to include transportation-construction in near-term economic rebuilding.

The organization also seeks to address long-term investment in highways, roads, and other surface infrastructure.
