EVgo, the largest fast-charging public network for electric vehicles (EV), grew its California network 40 percent this year.
The expansion has matched the state’s EV adoption rate.
This year, EVgo opened more than 100 fast chargers in the state and plans to open more than 200 by January.
“EVgo is enabling electric for all by building our fast-charging stations in the places where EV drivers live, work and shop,” Cathy Zoi, EVgo’s CEO, said. “EVgo’s California network will grow by 40 percent this year, and today, 80 percent of California EV drivers live within a 15-minute drive of one of 300 EVgo reliable and convenient fast-charging stations.”
Founded in 2010, EVgo has more than 750 locations in 34 states and more than 1,200 DC fast chargers in 66 metropolitan markets. The charges are compatible with all fast charge capable EV models, including Tesla vehicles with a CHAdeMO adapter.
More than 100 million Americans live within a 15-minute radius of an EVgo charging station. The company reports having more than 180,000 customers.
EVgo partners with companies to bring EV charging to customers. These partners include gas stations, parking-lot operators, shopping centers, hotels, stores, and other stakeholders.
