As the popularity of online food ordering continues to grow, the Uber Eats service announced that they intend to reach 70 percent of the U.S. population by the end of 2018.

Uber Eats, originally launched in California, allows users to order food from participating restaurants either through a website or a smartphone app. An increasing number of cities have taken up the service, allowing restaurants to upload their menus and allow for quicker deliveries to interested customers. Uber Eats reports that order volume increased in September more than 10 times the number reported two years ago.

Since its founding in 2014, the service has also spread to Canada, France, Mexico, Japan, and India. It focuses on places where Uber’s ride-sharing services already exist. In a cooperative bid, Uber drivers that provide rides for Uber are also able to participate in the Uber Eats delivery service.
