Safe Drive Systems (SDS), a developer and distributor of advanced auto safety technologies, recently announced an alliance partnership with Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies in a fleet technology pilot project.
The pilot project will evaluate whether the installation of SDS systems in select GUARD Insurance Companies’ fleet customers’ vehicles will reduce the frequency and severity of their claims. Each vehicle will be equipped with an anti-collision radar system that includes driver behavior scoring, report generation software, real-time tracking abilities, and the Fleet SDS mobile application.
Ninety percent of car accidents are caused by human error, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.
“What makes SDS unique is that it offers the only collision-avoidance technology that combines both radar and a camera,” SDS President and CEO Tuvi Cohen said. “This powerful combination ensures the highest safety possible, even at night or when visibility is impaired due to inclement weather conditions.” The RD140 Anti-Collision Radar System can be installed in any vehicle manufactured after 2006 and comes with a 24-month warranty.”
GUARD Insurance Companies’ decision to participate in the pilot project reflects its commitment to the safety, President and CEO Sy Foguel said.
GUARD Insurance Group became part of Berkshire Hathaway in 2012.
