BNSF Railway debuted this week a 195-acre logistics center in Moore, Oklahoma, designed to accommodate manifest and unit train customers as well as house a storage site.
The location of the site gives BNSF ease of access to both rail and highway. A double-ended industry lead track will connect to the main line to serve customers at this site, also allowing for unit trains to arrive from either direction without impeding access to manifest sites.
“Logistics centers are just one-way BNSF offers more choices, flexibility, and efficiency for new, potential and existing customers,” Colby Tanner, assistant vice president of economic development said. “Logistics Center Oklahoma City provides unrivaled access to the state’s largest population center and one of our nation’s most prominent energy centers.”
The logistics center is one of many services BNSF offers to give business parks greater flexibility through direct rail service. They are meant to service both carload and unit train customers.
