North Carolina Railroad Company is launching a new economic development program to help local governments and economic development organizations secure land for future industrial use.
“Speed to market is critical for businesses, and site control is a key factor in meeting that demand. NCRR’s Options Program addresses a significant market gap by helping local governments and economic development organizations (EDOs) secure land for future industrial use,” Trish Haver, Chief Commercial Officer for NCRR said. “This initiative not only unlocks opportunities for grants and other resources but also ensures that sites are rail-ready and competitive, positioning communities for economic growth.”
As a way to preserve land for future industrial users and strengthen North Carolina’s economic competitiveness, North Carolina Railroad Company said it would launch a new economic development program to help local entities with site development. The company said the initiative would help preserve land for future industrial users and strengthen North Carolina’s economic competitiveness.
Officials said the program will be made available for local governments and economic development organizations to help with site control. In addition to NCRR’s suite of economic development programs, officials said, the Options Program would help streamline site identification, due diligence studies, development and marketing as a way to expand the pipeline of rail-ready sites.
“NCRR is dedicated to enhancing North Carolina’s competitiveness on a national scale. By stewarding economic development programs that create a pipeline of shovel-ready sites, we are facilitating economic growth and attracting new businesses to the state,” Carl Warren, president and CEO of NCRR, said.
Officials said the move would not only address gaps in the market and expand site readiness efforts, but also strengthen NCRR’s position as an economic catalyst for North Carolina. The program builds on the company’s mission to foster economic growth through rail infrastructure and site development, company officials said.
