CBP selects Rockwell Collins’ border management solution for international passenger processing

Rockwell Collins’ ARINC Border Management Solutions was recently selected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as its supplier of advance passenger information (API) and passenger name record (PNR) data in order to bolster border security and passenger processing efficiencies.

Developed to give officers the ability to review passenger information in advance, the ARINC software enables law enforcement agencies to identify high-risk individuals before they arrive in the United States.

“Border security continues to be a major area of focus for governments around the world,” Mike DiGeorge, vice president of Commercial Aviation and Network Services at Rockwell Collins, said. “We are working with these agencies to provide solutions that improve security for everyone. Our ARINC Border Management Solutions give them the information they need in a format they can use.”

Under terms of the agreement, Rockwell will provide information systems, called the ARINC Global Network, so officers can review and transmit API and PNR data. The secure, ground-based network also allows airlines to transmit passenger information to CBP in a consistent format.

Currently, AGN supports more than 3,000 participants in the aviation industry, including a number of worldwide airlines and the Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs).
