The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and NJ TRANSIT, the state’s public transportation corporation, recently launched a survey to learn residents opinions on KEEP IT MOVING NJ!, the 2050 statewide long-range transportation plan.
The plan seeks to tackle New Jersey’s current and future transportation needs by improving road infrastructure, enhancing public transit, and expand options for biking, walking, and other forms of active transportation. The plan covers all forms of transportation including air travel, biking, public transit, rail, roadways, walking, and waterways.
“Transportation is essential to New Jersey’s daily life, connecting communities, supporting the economy, and improving quality of life for its over nine million residents. NJDOT is committed to creating a transportation system that meets the needs of all New Jerseyans, now and in the future,” said NJDOT Commissioner Francis O’Connor. “KEEP IT MOVING NJ! is an opportunity for everyone to have a say in shaping our state’s transportation landscape. We encourage all residents and travelers to share their insights through our survey and help us build a better-connected New Jersey.”
The agencies will use feedback to shape the plan. They plan to hold numerous in-person and online opportunities for the public to share thoughts on the plan’s recommendations and share transportation experiences and needs.
