The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) recently awarded seven transportation construction projects $5.9 million in Cost Share Program grants. When combined with $9.8 million in matching community funds, the total investment for the projects is more than $15 million.

The program advances transportation projects that alleviate congestion, improve access and mobility, improve safety, and support job retention and growth. It has funded 186 projects since 2019.

“Infrastructure projects funded through the Cost Share Program aren’t just about roads and bridges; they are about increasing job growth and retention and strengthening the economic climate across Kansas,” Gov. Laura Kelly said. “By leveraging this partnership with KDOT, communities are able to address necessary, long-term solutions to their local transportation issues.”

The award recipients include Ford County, which received funding for 113 Road, reconstruction and expansion; the city of Andale, which received funding for the revitalization of Andale Roadway; the city of Beloit, which received funding for street improvements to three roads; the city of Coffeyville, which received funding for mill and overlay work on Eighth Street; the city of Colby, which received funding for Country Club Drive improvements; the city of Edgerton, which received funding for East 2nd Street improvements; and the city of Haven, which received funding for improvements on two roads.
