Packaging solutions provider Amcor announced recently that it would expand its AmFiber Performance Paper packaging product into Latin America.
The move will provide the company’s Latin American customers with a high barrier, recyclable paper-based packaging solution, officials said. Launched initially for the confectionery market with cold seal, the product has expanded to include heat seal sachets for dry culinary and beverage applications like instant coffee, drink powders, spices, seasonings, and dried soups, the company said. The material is more than 80 percent paper fiber content and PVDC-free, making it recyclable.
“Our AmFiber™ Performance Paper is already on store shelves across Europe and Australia, and we’re excited to now deliver this proven solution in Latin America,” said Ilya Syshchikov, vice president, Global Product Management AmFiber™. “This marks another important milestone toward developing recyclable paper packaging solutions for all the segments we serve in all regions across the globe.”
Additionally, the company has invested in manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for the AmFiber product. The company announced an integrated state-of-the-art production line in its Amcor Flexibles Alzira plant in Spain.
Amcor provides responsible packaging solutions for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal-care products, and works with brands around the world to provide solutions that differentiate brands and improve supply chains.
