FedEx Corp. recently announced it will consolidate its operating companies into one organization.
FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Services, and other FedEx operating companies will merge into Federal Express Corp. to become a single company operating under the FedEx brand. Consolidation will enhance the company’s ability to meet customers’ needs.
The process is expected to be completed in June 2024.
“Over the last 50 years, we built networks that have created a differentiated and unmatched portfolio of services,” Raj Subramaniam, FedEx Corp. president and CEO, said. “This organizational evolution reflects how we represent ourselves in the marketplace — focused on flexibility, efficiency, and intelligence. As one FedEx team, we are well positioned to execute on our mission to help customers compete and win with the world’s smartest logistics network.”
To ensure a smooth transition, the company has made leadership changes, effective April 16.
Richard W. Smith will serve as president and CEO of Airline and International at FedEx Express and oversee FedEx Logistics.
John A. Smith will serve as president and CEO of FedEx Express’ U.S. and Canada Ground Operations and will lead surface operations at the FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight businesses.
FedEx Freight will continue to operate as a stand-alone company.
