On Aug. 23, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced it had launched an online survey to kick off the second phase of public engagement for the state’s Long Range Transportation Plan, “Beyond Mobility.”

The online survey will allow community members to submit feedback on the plan that looks at the state’s transportation priorities through 2050. The plan is intended to inform elected officials and community leaders so they can make policy decisions regarding future transportation projects.

“This second phase of public engagement for the Statewide Long Range Transportation Plan will be critical in helping MassDOT understand the transportation priorities of community members throughout the Commonwealth,” said Transportation Secretary and CEO Jamey Tesler. “The results from surveys and community-centered engagement activities will help inform future capital programming and strategic planning at MassDOT.”

This second round of community engagement will allow all community members to provide their views on what transportation investments the state should prioritize, the department said. The survey will be open until Oct. 14, 2022, and is available in all of the major languages spoken in the state.

The department said it would also be hosting a series of engagement activations designed to meet community members where they are through the end of September. Activations will be held across the state and involve outreach street teams setting up a kiosk at various locations to share information about the plan and offer incentives for passersby to participate in the Beyond Mobility public survey.
