The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) recently named Matthew J. Jeanneret as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Nov. 1.
“Matt’s 20 years of accomplished service have well prepared him for this new role,” William Toohey, ARTBA’s acting president and CEO, said. “Over that time, he has been instrumental in the success of the association’s advocacy, safety, education, and member services programs. Matt is a proven leader, effective manager and has a deep commitment to the association’s mission, membership, and staff.”
Jeanneret joined ARTBA in 1998 as director of public affairs. He has been the ARTBA Transportation Development Foundation’s (TDF) executive director since 2005 and, for the past decade, has been ARTBA’s senior vice president of communications and marketing.
In January, Jeanneret became deputy chief operating officer.
Jeanneret became a Certified Association Executive by the American Society of Association Executives in 2005 and graduated from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s four-year nonprofit leadership program, Institute for Organization Management, in 2009.
Before joining ARTBA, Jeanneret was legislative aide to retired U.S. Sen. Alan K. Simpson (R-WY), a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice during the George H.W. Bush administration and chief media spokesman for two Massachusetts state agencies.
