UPS announced this week the launch of Ware2Go, a new technology company and digital platform focused on aiding small and medium-sized companies get products to customers faster.
Ware2Go will certify warehouses at strategic locations throughout the country, then matches available warehouse space with merchants’ needs. They ask no minimum or long-term commitment of the businesses that use them, allowing these users to store products closer to their customers without the need for constant fretting over providers and time commitments. A cloud-based platform allows utilizing merchants to engage in storage, pick/pack fulfillment and shipping with guaranteed two-day deliveries through UPS, coupled with lower price points.
“Ware2Go uses innovative online technology to match excess warehouse and fulfillment capacity with merchant demand to provide transparent inventory, order fulfillment and final delivery,” Scott Price, chief transformation and strategy officer, said. “We’re solving for two major problems: speed to market and efficient warehousing.”
Warehouse space has continued to outpace new supply for years, coupled with surging rental rates and growth in the e-commerce market. Ware2Go, therefore, fills a niche for those merchants who sell online and want quick shipments despite having few distribution centers themselves.
The new company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
