American Packaging Corporation opens second digital packaging unit

On Monday, Columbus, Wis.-based American Packaging Corporation (APC) announced it had opened a second digitally printed flexible packaging production unit in its Wisconsin Center of Excellence.

The Wisconsin digital packaging unit will offer world-class digital printing, laminating, coating and pouching, coupled with a rapid response library of stocked packaging materials, designed for fulfilling orders in 15 days or less. This latest investments, the company said, expands APC’s serviceable order range, and supports the needs of smaller SKUs and midsize brands. When added to the company’s rotogravure and flexographic printing capabilities, the company said it has the “optimal portfolio of capabilities” to support customers and their packaging needs.

The family-owned company is a leader in the flexible packaging industry and has invested in state-of-the-art facilities and capabilities to deliver packaging innovation, and sustainable products and practices. APC operates six Centers of Excellence and employs an estimated 1,300 workers. For the new facilities the company selected a state-of-the-art digital printing press with fast color matching to deliver automated and fast calibration of colors for brand owners.
